Grand Pointe Puts a Lincoln in the WoodsELGIN, IL, October 25 - Sitting near 304 acres of wildlife-rich pine forest and backing into lush wetlands, The Preserves at McDonald Woods tends to be a quiet and serene place, even as its 28 single-family homes are still being built. However, builder Grand Pointe Homes made some noise there today when it announced that it was adding another model to the emerging community. Called the Lincoln, the model becomes the seventh different two-story home being offered at the site. "The best developments offer a lot of choice, and the Lincoln makes The Preserves very rich in that regard," said Scott Ballard, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for West Dundee-based Grand Pointe. "The Lincoln is another option for families who want to live close to this beautiful forest preserve and see and actually touch the stunning wetland on an everyday basis." At 2,705 square feet, the four-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath Lincoln becomes the smallest home in the Preserves. However, lucky residents will live large in a layout that includes a two-story foyer, nine-foot ceilings on the first floor, a living room that opens up into a large family room, a private commode in the master bath, a first-floor laundry with access to the garage, and-as an exciting option-a front porch that extends from one side of the home to the other. The home also features a full basement, a two-car garage, and-as another option-a master sitting room. The price ranges from $356,900 to $368,900-before Grand Pointe's special savings incentives. For a little more money, buyers can add their own personality to the homes through upgrades such as bay windows, skylights, built-in entertainment centers, lofts, extra bedrooms, cathedral ceilings in master bedrooms, three-car garages, and-even-raised-platform Roman tubs in master baths. "Buyers have the flexibility to essentially put their family's personal stamp on their new home," said Ballard. As the optional front porch suggests, distinctive style isn't confined to just the inside of the Lincoln or other Preserves' models. The exterior can encompass covered entries, shutters and coordinating trim, archways, coach lights, and decorative windows such as transoms, half-rounds, and palladians. Each floor plan comes in several exterior variations, producing many eye-catching elevations. Furthermore, Grand Pointe offers a variety of colors and materials (including brick, siding, and Dryvit) to help create diverse streetscapes and pleasing curb appeal. "With so many special touches, the Lincoln and its neighboring models can seem almost custom-made. At the same time, they're so intimately in tune with their natural surroundings. It's that dual nature that makes The Preserves a unique place to call home, whatever model you buy. The community speaks loudly about quality and choice," said Ballard. To see a model of The Preserves, take 294 to Grand Avenue, exit and head west to the sales center, which is located two blocks east of Route 83.
